Room so small had to walk sideways to get past end of bed to avoid knocking TV off the wall. Although food was excellent the whole menu was overpriced.
Unique Building - Missing the element of hospitality ”
Pro's: Unique building, tastefully decorated and captured the history of the property. Nice outdoor trail to stretch your legs and spot wildlife. Con's: Staff seemed inconvenienced or bothered to engage with guests. Preferential treatment recognized repeatedly at different meals in the restaurant. Unable to regulate water temperature in shower. Property representing itself as more than it is - creating disappointment. Excellent menu with intriguing dishes, yet slow impersonal service - then the prized smoked boar was over cooked and dry.

The bar/lounge was so quaint. The breakfast was amazing. Rooms were sufficient. The property is a bit outside of the Windermere area, but we really didn't mind the drive.

Staff were really helpful going out of their way to help when I forgot my toothbrush! Woodland walk a really nice, unexpected treat. Restaurant food-best steak I have ever had!
