Perfect location ”
We travel to Edinburgh regularly to visit our daughter at the university. We have stayed in many wonderful hotels (and have two regular ones same standard as the Balmoral)) but this was the first time at the Balmoral. We stayed two nights in three rooms for our daughter's 21st. Perfect location, facility and staff. The afternoon tea in the The Palm with attentive staff was brilliant and a perfect end to a 21 birthday celebration. Too much food so either don't have breakfast on the day or book your tea for very late afternoon. Only negative comment I have is one of the reception staff was a bit "cold" but this could be due to either language or cultural difference. We have two more years of visit to Edinburgh and we will certainly stay here a few times and treat our daughter to a break from her student flat. Thank you.

We stayed one night in an Executive room which was fine but nothing special. You pay for the name really.

Returning from Skye Highlands excursion I checked in right away completely relaxed easy to all evenues After days out I had a Spa Day it was wonderful Pool warm Sauna for sore muscles A relaxing Massage then enjoying afternoon Tea was prefect I wasn’t happy of the change of room service menu
The best hotel I've ever stayed in”
I'm not a person to be effusive but this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything was perfect and I cannot think of anything that spoiled it. It made for a beautiful Christmas for us. Every member of staff was so professional and friendly; every piece of decor oozed class; the food was incredible. We loved the toy owl and accompanying picture book as a present for our little girl - we loved the Santa stocking hanging on our door, too. I couldn't thank the staff enough and we will definitely return.

Excellent in every way except for the bathroom, which remained extremely cold. There were no heating vents, and cold air infiltrated around the window. The only heat source was the heated towel bar, and without going into the details of surface area related to heat transfer, it was just not enough.
